History
The formation
of Boxthorn Removals came about following
an inquiry regarding the removal of
boxthorns on Wardang Island, after
Hasting Engineering had recently completed a rubbish clean up
on the island for Pasminco Pty. Ltd..
These boxthorns, which cover a large area in all types
of terrain, presented the company with a logistical nightmare.
Research was conducted into the most
efficient methods of removing boxthorns and
it was generally agreed that the most effective method
is to extract them from the ground
vertically. As the boxthorn is lifted
out of the ground a large circle of roots
(2-3 metres on larger bushes) is pulled out
as well. It is these roots that re-growth comes
from, so the more roots that are removed,
the less re-growth there is.
Next, a suitable machine had to be found.
Many were looked at and at one stage a specific machine
was designed for the job, until the present
machine was found.
Boxthorn Removals, then emerged.
